Food Does anyone use Orijen natural, grain-free food? I got a trial bag of Orijen dry puppy food from Bark & Fitz (upscale dog store) and Chloe loves it! She actually eats this stuff! Just wondering if it's a good food? http://www.championpetfoods.com/orij...cts/puppy.aspx |
Moving Charlie over to that brand, and the ingredients looks excellent. Charlie is a 10 yo. rescue. Also, sent for samples of Flint River for future. |

Thanks for the reply!! I'll continue feeding it. It's the ONLY dry food she will eat. We're out right now :( :( :( but we'll definitely be getting more. For now she's just eating her wet food (Chicken soup...) |
I haven't heard of it. Is is avail. everywhere or just in local areas? ordered on net? Let me know. |

It may only be available in Canada...it's all natural products & is made in Canada. I'll check if there's a thing on the website to where it's available. |
There's some states that have it & there's online stores. http://www.championpetfoods.com/orij...ocator/#Online :)! |
I feed two of my three dogs Orijen (the third is unbelievably picky and doesn't like it :p). The other two still act like it's a treat though, and inhale it every time. The ingredients look great to me, the customer service has been amazing (I sent them an e-mail on Saturday once, and had a reply when I woke up on Sunday morning), and I feel comfortable feeding it with the recent pet food recall as it's made at its own production facility in Northern Alberta. I've only been feeding it for a few weeks now so I haven't noticed that many changes, but their coats are softer (they were on Merrick before) and they seem to have more energy. They recently announced the release of another formula in June, Orijen 6 Fresh Fish. I'm hoping to try it with the third and pickiest one since she tends to like fish so I have my fingers crossed that she might actually eat it! |

I spoke with the chemist from championpetfoods regarding the exact amount to be fed and ethoxyguin. He said "we asked them not to process the fish with ethoxyguin". This is such a difficult time and since Charlie has had a rough time in his formative years, this food sounds excellent and free of grains. My plan is also add a quality wet food and on the search although I have read that Merrick is very good. However, doing my research via internet since most high end pet stores have quality food, I want to be sure there are no mistakes. Also, I did receive my samples from Flint River which I will introduce later so there is a variety in his diet. Did you notice a difference in their poopies? Less frequent? Firmness? Thanks, Deborah |
champion pet food company? Is that not on the first list? |
Do you mean the "recall"? |

Huh? What list? |

Chloe's have actually become a little more firm, which is good, absolutely no diarrhea while on Orijen. She goes a little less often...about 3-5 times a day, most often only 3 though. |
How much does Chloe weigh? Her age? Thanks. |
Chloe's just over 2lbs (2lbs 2oz last vet check a few weeks ago, but I think she may have lost a tiny bit since then because she wasn't eating well for a while). She'll be 6 months old on May 7th :) |
