Merrick brand food Hey guys, Do any of you know about Merrick brand food? Have any of you used it? I'm getting so scared with all the food recalls going on and i get worried.. Would any of you recommend it? Rob |
Emma eats Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie canned and dry mixed together and she really likes it :) It's very healthy, and even has little pieces of carrots, potatoes, and stuff like that. The canned food looks edible for a human! LOL I wouldn't recommend eating it though ;) Anyway, we had good success with this food, but we've started home cooking with all these scares, so she gets some home cooking and some Merrick food. |
I just switched my 2 Yorkies to Merricks canned, the cowboy cookout and mix it with Wellness canned and they have Sensible Choice kibble by Royal Canin. They prefer the Merricks so I will slowly switch then to that. The problem with the Merricks kibble is that it is a bit too big for mine. |
 I did alot of research on dog food and finally chose Merricks. Most of the other holistic foods just had too much protein. Merricks was exactly what I was looking for and my boys love it. I give them the Dry food in the Senior formula. |
Merrick canned won dog food of the year. It's not "loaf" form like most, it has whole chunks of chicken, peas, carrots, etc. in gravy. Wingaling is our fav - whole chicken wings. |
I use Merricks dry (right now we have cowboy cookout, turkducken and Pot Pie. Conner loves it. I mix it with 1/8 cup boiled hamburg or ground turkey. Sometimes for a treat, I add a little American cheese. Conner is so finikey that I have to do add-ons. He eats this food but picks out the peas and leaves them all over the floor. I just started picking them out myself before I give it to him. |
Gracie eats Merrick's dry and canned. The canned smells so good I have been tempted to try it myself! It is real food and it looks it! |
Scared by all the pet food recalls, I've found "SPOTS STEW" made by www.Halopets.com out of Palm Harbor Florida and mix a little of that moist canned food with " Wellness Senior Super5Mix " www.wellnesspetfood.com out of Chelmsford, MA who have been in business since 1926, both products of USA . Our mature girls love the wellness kibbles, now mixing with some of Spots Stew instead of plain water and they both LOVE IT !........ If anyone uses these products I'd like to hear from them. |
Both of my babies get Merricks :D I buy a 5 lb bag of a Merrick brand (Puppy Plate, Granny Pot Pie or whatever) and mix it w/ a 5 lb bag of Canidae Chicken and Rice. So with each feeding they are getting some of both. Then once or twice a week I give them canned Merricks foods. Boy I have to agree with one of the above posters they smell and look good enough to eat myself. :D Especially the Granny Pot Pie yum yum (my babies think so anyway). Also both Merrick and Canidae foods are for ALL LIFE STAGES. So that helps me alot since I have a 4 month old puppy and a 3 year old. So they can eat the same thing. |
love Merrick's. I use the wet mixed with Innova and Canidae dry. My adult poodle and my yorkie puppy both love it. Wish it were in smaller cans, though |
My two love the Merrick's canned food. :) I mix it with their dry and they eat it all up. You can see the carrots and peas in there. |
Brandi loves the Merricks.........wingalings and now smothered comfort (I think that's the name) it has a whole chicken thigh in the can....even though the bones are edible I pick the chicken off the bones for her........she also eats Innova canned.....and I'm still using all the samples of dry........and she doesn't seem to favor any of them....... |
