Missing Link What do you use it for???? I just read in a catalog that Missing link clears up drippy eyes in yorkies. For thos of you that use it, what do you use it for? and what benefits have you personally seen? |
I use it for their skin and coat. When I started it Chachi had skin problems. I have noticed improvement in their coats snce using it. |
I bought some a while ago ...it has omega 3& 6 in it for their coat, allergies, fiber for their digestive system,& probably more that I can't think of right now... I'm having a problem getting it in him...I've tried yogurt, cottage cheese, & wet dog food...I only use a tablespoon of the food & mix it in...he either totally rejects the food or only takes a couple licks ...I would like to hear from other people also... |
i have no seen an improvement in Layla's eyes.. but i use it for her skin.. ours is past its expiration date so i know the benefits will decrease... gotta get out and get more! |

Yep its a teaspoon and you want to start them with a 1/4 of a teaspoon |
I've tried to start w/ a little less than a half teaspoon...but there is no sneaking it past him...I heard it has a liver taste that maybe he keeps smelling or tasting...I didn't want to try it to see if it was true.lol |
i think she was saying she mixes it in only a tablespoon of Food. I need to start using it on my brood but i have so many it would be very expensive. |

:p Ha, I see that. I just went back and reread. One site has a 5 pound bag for $38.50 and I read that 1 pound should last a 40 to 80 pound dog 2 months and their dosage is 3 tsp. Therefore 1 pound should last a yorkie 6 months. http://www.pfwh.com/MLC_1-p-missing-...pplements.html |
I have the same problem getting vitamin/supplements into my "brat." I've tried Solid Gold Sea Meal and it's 1/8 tsp mixed in warm water and put into the food. The first sniff Sparky gets of it, he will turn his nose up and walk away. He refuses the food if I put it in there. I've tried yogurt, cottage cheese, regular cheese, fruit, etc. He refuses it all. Do they make a vitamin that has a nice taste that maybe they can chew up? Otherwise I will not be able to get anything like that into him barring squirting it down his throat. |

Yes, I only use 1tbsp. of food, hoping it would be such a small amount that he would just eat it all, but no luck...I was in Petsmart & they had a bag that looked similar to Missing Link for $2... I don't know if they where identical or not..... |
This post and my reply made me remember that I had picked up some Activia to try and get Gordon to eat with ML. I just gave him a tablespoon of Activia and a teaspoon (he has been on it awhile) of ML. He just gobbled it down. |
I just started mine on an omega 3 oil from the vet...i just drizzle some on her food and she eats it no problem...too early to say if it's helping her or not though, it's only been about a week |
I add a little water to it in a seperate bowl and make a paste that I add to his food. He eats it right up. |
