Dandruff hi, my little girl has dandruff mostly at the lower half of her back....does any of your yorkies have the same problem? any solutions? Thanks |
What I thought was dandruff became a bad case of ringworm, so keep an eye on it beyond all else, just in case. If hair starts to come out in spots, get it checked out. I know that others have had yorkies with dry skin, so I'll let them chime in here, since I am clueless on that subject. Good luck. |
I have been told by a Yorkie breeder that some dogs develop dandruff because the food their eat is too oily, eukanuba is the most common. I would suggest you to pay a visit to the vet and get his opinion...in case it is some kind of skin desease is very important to start an early treatment. |
Guys, When brought Cosita home from the breeder she was fine. About two months later I started noticing her skin getting flaky.. which got worse over time. I tried a Dandruff shampoo which didn't do anything. Then I thought, maybe I am not drying her completely after the bath. Well, I started making sure she was completely dried every time I used the hair dryer. She got so much better. One day at the Vet, I saw this shampoo for flaky skin which I bought. I also got the rinse. ADIOS flaky skin.. She has not have more flaky skin since then. Some one said that when it is hot they get flaky, but I remember it was summer when this happened, but I also remember it wasn't that hot. there are my 2 cents. -r |
