Overweight -diet This may be a silly ? but is there any way to jumpstart a dogs losing weight diet. We do as humans detox and the like, I have been trying to get my older girl to lose about 3 pounds and nothing seems to work. She gets more excercise and less treats, she is also on a weight control kibble. I not wanting to be cruel. I just thought someone might have an idea. I would like to add that she got this way by eating table scraps that were intended for wild life, because we live in the country. We finally discovered she was the only one enjoying them when she would have her times outside. |
I'm not sure but I just wanted to wish you lots of luck. |
Brownie & my friends puggle need to loose a few to hopefully someone will have some answers for us :D |
i substitute with carrots and string beans.. its been helping her lose alittle. that is with her treats.. |
I think I remember seeing a post about this awhile back....I won't be online much today, but you can do a search and see what comes up....I would love to see the hints and tips again, if you do find something. After Mojo was neutered, the vet recommended only feeding once a day, so we feed in the morning (measured) w/ Missing Link....for treats, he loves carrots, peas and apples...small bits of them. He is still at his 5lb 4oz size that he was prior to neutering, but I think he could stand to loose just alittle bit...not that he is fat or anything, but the saying is that you should feel their ribs or see their ribs or something like that....and I can't! Plus, this massive hair he has going on makes him look like he is 3lbs bigger than he really is....aurgh!!! |
Dogs are not supposed to lose weight quickly. It isn't good for them. They are to lose slowly, not like humans at all. |
