Yes, he is on a low protein diet and lactulose. He is allowed only 3 meals a day with lactulose in. The meals are very tiny and he always seems to be hungry. But the vet did told me not to overfeed him as that can cause seasures as well when you have liver shunt. I am giving him in case of a seisure 0.2 ml of valium in the first minutes and after that I give him another 0.5 ml in half an hour. I did not know that valium can cause other kidney problems as well. I think I will have to have a chat with my doctor and will also tell him about the ''clavamox''. He's also on anothe medicine which he takes half, twice a day and is called Synulox(50 mg). |

My baby Bobo (almost the same name as yours) had liver shunt surgery 3mos ago and they did do his neuter at the same time. He is doing well now. Tammy |

Valium is extremely hard on their livers...So, although it may stop the seizures, it's hurting him as well...I'll pm you! |
But maybe in a case of emergency, valium is necessary?? Not sure...What prescription food is your baby on? |
