Dog or human
 
We are concerned about the extreme minaturisation as well as cosmetic docking. If people want a dog get a dog if they want a stuffed toy to dress up then get one. It degrades the dog to be used like this. See any of the dressing up pictures.

I think if YOU don't like it, YOU don't have to do it. You can only dictate what your pets do not what others do. No one has to explain why they dress or don't dress their pooches, no one elses business. By the way, quite an impression to make as a newbie. Who is we???

Hi, Welcome to YT!! I see you haven't been here long...have you taken time to read over some previous posts? I am sure if you have you will see what a loving & caring dog site this is. So many really nice, nice people on here who take their time to give advice, encouragement and share the love we all have for our Yorkies! You won't find a nicer, more caring group of people anywhere, and it is soooooo obvious how much we each love our precious dogs! I have seen Yorkie railroads, people who will watch another's dog while they are away..it just goes on and on, the goodness and generosity on this site. Welcome, welcome and feel free to post pics of YOUR yorkie...(with or without clothes):)

Introduction Yet Again
 
We are the British Yorkshire Terrier Society and despite best efforts very little of our postings have got through censureship. We are acting inline with The new Animal Welfare Act thankfully just been passed in Britain where cosmetic docking has been banned on welfare grounds. We are concerned about the welfare of all Yorkshire Terriers given the usage of the name and breed which originates from our shores. Yes we have just concerns about the less than progressive approach to breeding and Yorkshire Terrier ownership found overseas.

Well we're a big family and group of friends here with no political agenda from any particular group. We all care about our yorkies and have the most caring breeders here. These beauties may have originated from your country but they are members of family all over the world. These pups are our kids and we love them to death. Just because the British have banned something or passed a law, that doesn't mean the rest of the world has to :rolleyes: Give me a break, another supposed "activist" :thumbdown Why don't you worry less about what we're doing with our pups and worry more about how many out of standard yorkies are being bred and how many scams are being pulled in England?

More power to you woman!
I agree, it's my right to dress my doggies up if I so choose to.
They are BEYOND spoiled.. and pretty much everyone on this site is on this site because they believe in spoiling their dog and learning more about the breed.

It does not degrade them, it doesn't hurt them. They area treated like princes and princesses.. and if you fail to see that, just read some of the threads and posts FIRST, before you come here judging how we treat our spoiled furrballs.
