puppy growth formulas? A friend of mine was feeding her yorkie Royal Canin Puppy 33, then stopped because she read on the bag that it stimulates/enhances/stimulates growth (I don't know the exact wording off hand). She didn't want her Yorkie to grow too big. My question is, do the growth formula puppy food really make your yorkie "grow"? I would think that the size of the yorkie is predetermined by genetics and then helped out by caloric intake balanced with exercise (or lack thereof). As it is, Lola is over a year old and is 2 thirds of the size of Tia, who is just over 4 months old. I love Tia to bits whateer her size...I'm just wondering if her belief/concern is valid. |
I just has the necessary ingredients and supplements for "proper" growth. Not "more" growth. |
For a dog food to be labled "growth" it only has to show a certain (15%) weight gain during trial. So it only refers to weight, it won't effect the size of the bone structure of the animal. Kim |
