Uh...I wouldn't- "How about a natural remedy for ring worm? Tea tree oil is very effective against all forms of fungus. Apply a few drops to the whole ring area and cover with a gauze pad and tape. Do this twice a day. For even better impact, consider covering the outside of the gauze with a plastic wrap (i.e., 'Saran'), or use one of the "occlusive" pads, like TegadermŽ. The plastic covering keeps air away and seems to help increase the effectiveness of the tea tree oil. This should clear up the problem in a week or so. Continue applying the tea tree oil for a few days after the ring disappears." My understanding is that Human Grade Tea Tree oil is actually toxic to our small Yorkies. I wouldn't advise on this good idea unless you can get a hold of some diluted product that may be available at a local pet store. jm2c |
I take Gypsy to the local Banfield and absolutely am happy with the vet there. She is also a partner in the business according to her card. She takes time to listen and answer any q's I have. For a while she had me calling everyday with updates on Gypsy while we have been trying to get her better from this kennel cough. She even did not charge me for some xrays cause I was worried about the cost. I have used other vets in the past, and highly recommend this vet. I will see the other vet there tomorrow so I will see if she is as good. |
