When do they lose baby teeth? Approximately when do yorkies begin to lose their baby teeth? Tia is 4 months old, and it seems she finally has her full set of baby teeth in. We booked her spay for 6 months old and they are going to extract any remaining baby teeth then. Just wondering if I'm going to have a gummy puppy:rolleyes: |
She'll start to lose them any time now... I bet she's probably already got a few adult teeth in there. Their milk teeth are much sharper and almost have a transparent look to them... their adult teeth are duller and more opaque in color. I believe puppies usually lose them between 4 and 6 months - some puppies hang onto them a little bit longer. Both my two kept most of their baby teeth while their adult teeth grew in around them - two rows of teeth! When it came time for their surgeries, Ruthie had 12 teeth pulled, and Oscar had 14 pulled. It's a good idea to encourage chewing as much as possible to get those teeth out on their own (will save you some $$$!!) and gentle games of tug will help get them out! |
Well, she sure loves chewing (everything!) Thanks for the response :) |
Hannah has lost several teeth this week. I noticed the first one in her face hair, just hanging there. There was blood on one of her toys and I looked to find that one of the top fangs was just hanging there. Her bottom front teeth are all gone, and some of the back teeth are gone too. She is 6 months old. Does their breath usually smell bad during this? Her breath is bad... |
my yorkies are only like 13 weeks old so i got along way to think about teeth yet |
