Titer tests.... vaccinations? I know I've read on here that some of you get the titer tests done before vaccinations to see if you dog even needs them every year. Can you tell me a little more? Tatum and Stormie (our Aust. Shep) are due for shots and I want to have as much info as possible when I approach the vet about the titer tests. Is that what it's called? How do you pronounce it.... long i or short i? I've mentioned the tests in passing to my vet once and he kinda blew it off. I want to have more info so I can stand my ground when I talk to him. Thanks in advance for your help and info! |
I'm very interested in this too. |

My two Yorkies have only had their initial shots and haven't had any since then and they are now 14 and 15 months old. When they are around 5 years old I will have the titer test run on them to see if they are still protected. My 15 year old Chihuahua never gets shots at all. When she was just a puppy getting her puppy shots she had a seizure. That was it as far as I was concerned! http://www.wholisticanimal.com/petvaccinations.html http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/front/1377004 |
