I think it may be itching or something like that. I'd ask the vet to take a look. |
Jerry was doing that about a year ago when we switched shampoos...Have you switched lately ? When we switched him back I never saw it again. Michael |
My sister's beagle does this. The vet said it's allergies. I don't remember if she got an allergy medicine, but she had to wipe in between her toes with a special medicated wipe because Belle had developed a yeast infection from licking so much. She would lick at EVERY possible chance. I would ask your vet to take a swab of the area. I'm not an expert, but it sounds exactly like Belle with her allergies. |
In your area, did the grass and weeds really start to grow. One of our past yorkies would like his paws because he had allergies. In the winter, he did chew or lick his paws. It was in the springtime, he started. We used oatmeal shampoo to help him with the itching. |
Yes, cut the dog's nails Quote:
The owners were pissed off that they had spent $240.00 for "therapy". I believe that as the nails get longer it lifts the toes of the dog or slight twist them and this hurts the tendons in the wrist arm area. I figure this all out by #1 seeing long nails on the dogs that did this and #2 by getting a manicure one day and noticing the next day the my arm hurt and had that pins and needles feeling. I hope that is a simple case of needing a nail trim for your dog. |
Allergies will cause your puppy to bite his paws. You can give him a small amount of children's Benedryl if it is allergies that should help. But I always say when in doubt, see your vet! |
