Do any of you guys feed more than 1 kind of kibble? If so, do you mix the 2 kinds and feed at once or do you alternate different days?? I remember reading somewhere that some of you like to give a little variety. |
I have in the past, then they got so they only ate the Royal Canine. So right now that is what they get. |
I have in the past mix kibbles than I read somewhere it is better to rotate between premium brands of kibbles every few months. Now, I just feed him some Canidae kibbles mixed with home cooked. |
Hannah eats canidae but before that she ate wellness. I still have a whole bag of wellness left and so I thought I would mix them. She ate every single piece of the canidae and all that was left was the wellness...LOL. It was so funny to see her bowl with only the wellness left. |
Chloe did that with a mix of Royal Canin and Chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul. I don't know how she managed to pick out the RC from the other tiny kibbles, but she did. |

I feed both Life's Abundance and Canidae lamb and rice. I mix them both in a kibble storage container and they get equal amounts. |
thanks everyone! |
I feed my dogs 1 kibble at a time but I rotate every 3 months. I only use 5 or 6 star kibble. |
yes, I mixed 2 dry kibbles (EVO by Innova and Merrick dry kibble). When I feed them, I also add a wet food just to coat the kibble. They get different kinds of wet as well (Evangers, Merrick and another brand that I can't seem to remember the name at the moment:eek: ) |
I feed 2 different kinds of food. I was just feeding Science Diet Puppy (small bites) but it was so rich in protein it was giving them the runs. Vet recommended that I mix it with Purina Puppy Chow. Now that I am using Science Diet Adult (Small Bites) I use Purina Dog Chow (Small Bites). I mix about half and half, maybe a little more Science Diet. Haven't had the runs anymore either. |

I feed my girl Innova and mix it with Nutro for sensitive stomachs. She loves the mix. |

It's from a formula recipe that I got from this site! Several people here said it was a great recipie.. and a meat baby food is just one of the ingredients. The recipe is this: 1/2 cup half and half 1/2 cup baby rice cereal (the flakes) one jar of baby food (beef or chicken - no turkey) and a teaspoon of karo or maple syrup She was really sick before I found this recipe, and now that she actually eats... she is playing and running and jumping. |
I just came back and read mine and thought the same thing.. I thought I was rude! I didn't read it first though. It was a horrible process trying to find something that didn't end up all over the white carpet of our apartment! I'm so glad we did. I'm hoping when my female is a little older I can switch over gradually to something else, but I'm not sure if it will be successful. I hope! But we'll get there eventually. I have found they love the super small bites though. My male who is 14 months old had the runs for like 2 months because of this food problem. I'm just glad we found something that worked! Will yours not even eat the canned dog food? I had to do that for awhile until he would totally eat the kibble. Although his poop wasn't the most solid thing when he ate that, it's better than the runs. I guess we just have picky little dogs!! |
Oh no, she won't even touch canned dog food. Even if I warm it up. She won't even eat the formula I make for her unless I heat it and SPOON FEED it to her!!! Everyone tells me that she is playing me for a fool and if I left her hungry for a day she'd eat, but I tried that and she didn't eat. She just shook and slept all day. And she's only 10 weeks.. I'm too scared to play around like that. I'll do whatever it takes to get her to eat until she is a little older... and she loves the formula. So what can I do? LOL. I never knew Yorkies were sooooo picky!! I've spent over $60 in kibble in ONE WEEK trying to get her to eat something lol. Next up is Royal Canin, WISH ME LUCK! Quote:

I'm glad she's eating. Just be careful with it. I used to feed it to my girl too until I read some articles and checked the back of the jars of baby food. |
Thanks for the concern. I'll check the ingredients and see what I can do... *tears out hair* This dog might be the death of me haha.. I'm always sooo worried. |
Wow, us and our spoiled little kiddos! ;) Well, I thought about trying that, but I am waiting for some samples to come in! Vet said he could get some. This is what we did last time, tried the samples so we didn't have to buy. Bentley wouldn't eat for the first days really, so we went through that too. But he would eat the canned food, but it was still not the best. So we went through the kibble eliminating process. I'm sure you'll get it regulated soon. I know that I had to keep a bottle of Kyro syrup around incase of hypoglycemia. Only had to use it once though! Thank gosh! Had to send bf to Wal-Mart at 3 am because we didn't have any. Along with waking my vet up... OOOPS! ;) |
