Salmon oil I asked this in another thread but got no answers :( so maybe somewhere here can help ???? I am using Solid Gold Seameal along with their 75% Yucca supplement. Do you think using the salmon oil would be over supplementing? Or maybe using it every other day or something. Also, does using it make the dog have a fishy smell at all? I used one kind of oil suppl. before and I hated the way the dogs smelled so I quit using it. Thanks for your help!:) |
I dont know if it would be over supplimentin or not. The salmon oil does have a fishy smell |
I think your best bet is to check with your vet regarding your concerns about over-supplementation. My Gracie has dry skin and the vet suggested Fish Oil. I take the fish oil liqui gels myself so my vet said I could poke the end of one and give half a gel to Gracie with her food once a day. I stir it into her food and it really smells of fish, but between meals she does not smell like fish at all. Remember, fish oil is still oil, fat. Too much could lead to health problems. |

Just wondering because my girl has very dry skin. I'm currently giving my girl missing link with her food - but have not seen any improvement. |

I've never had a problem with any flaking or dry skin with any of them. I just thought that maybe the salmon oil could help her coat. |

Also, walgreens carries fish oil that has no smell. THey are gel caps.......minus the stinky fish scent........you might want to consider that. Also, I feed mine a vitamin E cap every night. No health problems here. Make sure you run it by your vet first though to make sure it's okay with your yorkie. Here is Bobbi: |
