Whole Wheat Toast -- good or bad :idontknow Every morning my husband has whole wheat toast with peanut butter on it. He has been sharing the peanut butter with Mattie but was wondering if a little bit of the bread would be okay too. Any comments on this??? :thankyou2 shelley |
Many dogs are allergic to glutens (wheat, barley, rye). If your baby is not showing any signs of allergies (itching/scratching, feet biting, dandruff, ear infections), then the whole wheat toast with peanut butter should be fine. However, if she starts showing symptoms of allergies, this should be one of the FIRST things to go. |
I have given Buddy little bits of the whole wheat toast from time to time with no problems. I never give him pieces with butter on it though. Carol & Buddy:aimeeyork |
Peanut butter is fine for dogs. I fill my labrador's kong with peanut butter and he loves it! Peanut butter is fine. |
If feeding peanut butter, then feed the "natural" kind. The others have too much sugar and preservitives. Whole wheat bread is a highly nutritious grain. |
I give small amount of both with no problems. We homecook for Punkin so she is used to all different kinds of foods. I don't give bread as part of her meals, but I always share bits of the crust when I have toast or a sandwich. |
Thanks for input :thumbs up Thanks everyone -- maybe we'll just stick with the peanut butter and no bread. He loves to lick it off my husbands fingers anyway. :tongue2: shelley |
I make my girls French toast useing whole wheat bread. I make one and cut it in half for them. I don't put the syrup on though. :p |
