Can you freeze wet food?? Can you freeze wet food? I like to mix in a spoonful with Howie's kibble once a day and I end up throwing the half-used can out after a week because I'm not sure it's good anymore. How long is wet food good for in the fridge? |
I dont know about freezing but i dont leave mine in the refrigerater longer than a week |
It depends what kind it is. If it's one of the higher quality foods that has no preservatives in it, then 3 days in the fridge, max. And I think that freezing it would be just fine, as long as you go ahead and do it immediately upon opening the can. Try it and see if Howie notices the difference in taste. If he's eating it as usual, then it's a success:thumbup: |

I used to put the wet food in Tupperware after I opened the can but with 2 I used it within the week. If you're not using it all why don't you put half in a Tupperware to use and use the other half for treats? You can cut it into small pieces, slice it into 1/4 or 1/2 inch slices first then cut into wedges, place them on a cookie sheet and bake them. I think I used to bake them at 375 for 35 or 45 minutes...refrigerate them after they cool. It doesn't smell so good when they're baking but they do make good treats and you won't waste the food. |
