"Goo-Goo Eyes" ? Does anyone have any effective ideas for removing the goop that runs from the puppies eyes? Its not a large amount, and it's usually one eye at a time....so its nothing I am worried about as far as contacting the vet or anything. It's just that Abbie pulls away from me with that "awwww, mom...." way about her when I try to clean it off. Short of shampooing her face, any ideas? I've tried wet washcloth, and it really doesn't do much. I tried picking it off and getting some of the ookie stuff away, and that works well but thats when she goes "aaaaaawwwwwwww mom, quit it!". lol.:p |
I use tearless shampoo with tootbrush to clean. But most importantly since I changed her diet to canidae she has less goo-goo eyes. I read somewhere here too the same experience with canidae. |
I use a fine tooth comb, Max hates it. So I wait until he is really tired. |
I use a flea comb and then wipe it with a wet rag when I wash Loki's face. He puts up with it just fine. Sammy does not like anything in her face so I am working with her the same way I taught Loki. Do it once or twice a day and give them a yummy treat when they are done! |
I use a CC buttercomb..........and scent and dye-free wipes. |
I put about a quarter tsp. of vinegar in Charlie and Henry's water bowl (it holds about 2 cups) and that has dramatically cut down on the amount of goop in their eyes. Henry's has never been that bad, but Charlie's was pretty gross. They don't even know it's in there, but they do look at me funny when they see me add it to the bowl. |
