4 month old female with dry heaves Molly is 4 months old and frequently has dry heaves. She eats and drinks fine but then she will wake up from a nap and heave about 6 or 7 times, never vomiting and then be ok again for hours. Her stomach also rumbles almost constantly with no results. Anyone one have any ideas? Terrie |
awww.....poor little one..... I have no idea what would cause that, but I certainly would ask you vet. Is she a "thriving" puppy -- gaining weight, active? Then it may be something harmless that will go away, but I sure would go to the vet and find out...... |
Has she had this for a long time? I've heard of dry heaving because they ate some carpet or something still caught in their throat. If it persists, a visit to the vet might be necessary. |
molly Been going on for about 2 weeks but she is still happy and v ery playful. Eats good and pooping fine. Terrie |
My 3 month old just started doing the same thing and of corse she started it the day after we went to the vet. I am trying to be patient and see if goes away. I have recently changed her food...but that is about all the changes I have made. Have you made any recent changes? If you end up going to the vet about it, please let me know. I am hoping it is just a case of a dry throat. |
Haven't changed anything. I noticed tonight when she acts like a wild child and the rests she does it more often. Do you think she just gets too excited? Terrie |
Could this be a sign of trachea problems? Or what they call "reverse sneezing?" Those surface when a pup has been very active. It sure sounds like something the vet should know about. I'll be interested to hear what you find out. |
If Toto did that .... I would "speed-dial" Dr. Lucy!!! I don't have a clue what would cause that! Keep us updated. |
