Puppy food recommendations??? We currently are feeding Gracie Eukanuba and have heard that it is not the best food. What are your recommendations. We are getting low and have to go to the pet store and buy her more food. Steve & Heather |
I feed my guy bil jac, he loves it. |
Innova is the best one, i think, but if you're feeding eukanuba, you would want to change to innova slowly because going to a premium food that quickly might not be so good. |
We still have about a week-two weeks worth of food. Wanted to get something now so can slowly convert her to the new food by gradually adding it to the eukanuba. Thanks for your replies. Heather & Steve |
I Also recommend going with Innova. I think that Eukanuba and IAMs are working together (I think).. but I know one thing about IAMS.. they are junk.. and they treat their lab dogs like it too (www.iamscruelty.com) if you'd like more information about healthy foods, or foods to avoid in dog food/ingredients: http://www.mordanna.com/dogfood/index.php?page=identify if you'd like more information on innnova: www.naturapet.com |
I feed mine Eukanuba and Royal Canin. She gets bored of the same food three times a day seven days a wk. |
I was feeding Chewy Royal canin but am now switching to Nature's Balance so he is getting the combo for a little while. I find NB to be a very good and healthy kibble for the pups, plus their meat rolls are great. |
Mine love Royal Canin puppy food - and twice a week I add some youghurt natural to it :) I give my dogs a dried fish twice a week too and I really think their fur looks shiny and healthy :) We have no dog treats in yorkie size here so I use kitty snacks - they have chicken taste and the dogs love them :) I use them only for training, so they are not used to snacks all day long. Good luck with your puppy! :) |
Mackenzie eats, Nutro~ Natural Choice- Lamb & Rice (puppy)...she loves it... :D http://www.nutroproducts.com/ncdogpuppy.asp |
iv'e tried so many different foods with my coco, i was giving him royal canin but it made him itch alot, so then i tried giving him cesar but that contains alot of meat by products, i tried giving him eukanuba he didn't like it,so now i'm giving him biljac and he loooves it and so do i, it's alot easier for him to chew because it's a flakier kibble and their small too. he eats very well everyday and the ingredients are great. :D i also give him missing link with his food and it's really helping with his coat :D |
I think our babies are a lot like humans. Not every baby likes the same. I have tried everything listed on the thread so far. The only thing that Maggie will eat is Purina Pro Plan Small Breed Puppy food and Ceasar's Puppy wet food. I'm having a "Maggie Won't Eat It Dog Food Sale", with all the stuff that's in my pantry now. |
I keep seeing this food on here, but never heard of it before. Haven't seen it at pet smart either.Innova, where did you hear of this food from. My yorkies have always been on science diet and we just started our Brittany on it and the difference in his coat is remarkable and he also doesen't seem so finniky anymore. We mix our dry with a little warmed up canned food. |
They have Innova and every other "premium" dog food at Pet Supplies Plus. I'm not sure if you have a chain like that in your area. |
I feed Baby Bil-Jac and she loves it. It seems like a good quality food to me, but of course everyone has their own opinion! Good luck! |
Biljac vs. Royal Canin I spoke to a Vet who said that Biljac is at the bottom of the list of good food. The breeder that I bought Coco from fed her Biljac and said she loved it. But when I asked the Vet, she said it's not good at all for their digestive system. I don't know how much of it is true but something to ask your vets for those who use Biljac. I now use Royal Canin and my little Coco loves those tiny little kibbles. She won't even eat canned food, it's all about the dry kibbles. |
