Adding to water to help keep teeth clean I was at the vet the other day, and as I was talking to him about me getting a yorkie, he mentioned the problems with their teeth. He had something that you put in their drinking water to help. Does anybody use something like that? If so, how does it work? I can't remember what it was called, but it was a liquid you just added to their water. It sounded a little bit nicer than brushing their teeth. |
was it cider vinegar?????????????? |

I haven't ever brushed Cody. My vet has me use Virbac C.E.T. HEXtra. It suppose to have some sort of bacteria that eats the plaque off the teeth or something. He has his teeth checked but I've never had to have them cleaned. I give him these chews 1 -2 a week. IDK but it is working for me. You can only buy these chews from the vet. |

HI all ! Let me come back and say by no means did I mean for my post to sound like what I give my baby is in any way better than brushing. I did not mean it to sound that way if it did. I was just letting you all know what my vet recommended for my Cody. I have not had his teeth brushed yet, as my vet never mentioned that he needed it. I am going to have his teeth cleaned at his next grooming. :D So I hope no one took my post wrong.;) |
when u find out please let us know.. it so hard brushing my girls teeth. |
I vaguely remember reading some time ago about something you can put in their water to prevent plaque build-up but don't remember what it was. We use the apple cider vinegar but that's more for "breath" than for teeth. Let us know what you find out. And by the way, milomlo..... I think I've seen those chews at my vet's office too. I might look into what those are made of and try them. |
CET Aquadent Okay, I called the vet and this stuff is called CET Aquadent, and she said out CET. It is $21.00 for 500ml. If any of you decide to try it, I'd be interested to know how it works!! |
