I can relate to that...Miko has to take medicine everyday, so he's very cautious as well. He thinks we're going to give him a pill or a syringe full of lactulose, but I think with time, it'll get easier. Last night, he was able to realize that we weren't giving him medicine. During the day, I just casually inspect his teeth just so he gets used to me touching his teeth.

How old is your yorkie? I'm guessing if she is about to get spayed, then she is around 6 months old. If this is correct, then her breath stinks because she is TEETHING! Don't worry, the bad breath will go away in a month of so when she stops teething, around 7 months of age. The PetzLife products will help, but don't be alarmed if the halitosis doesn't go away right away...she is teething and the bad breath is to be expected.

My Sassy is one year old. I have only had her for a month. The folks I got her from were going to breed her but the vet told them that she is too small.

Her breath smells so bad that at first I kept checking her hinney because I thought it was poop. :eek: So...I am desprately hoping that the PetzLife will work.

There are a few threads on here about putting apple cider vinegar (organic) in their drinking water. I started doing that a few months ago with Tatum and I think I can tell a difference. Do a search on it and see if you can find it.... there was one really good thread on it that said how much to put in the water and I printed it out to keep at home. I think it's like a tsp or tbsp per quart of water - maybe whoever originally posted that can set me straight. I just put a pitcher of water with the vinegar in it in the fridge and refill her bowl from the pitcher. But I can't remember exactly how much to use. That's why I have it printed out at home!

Does she have any retained baby teeth? The Petzlife will DEFINATELY work...you just have to be vigilant about it.

I have that stuff and I noticed that they aren't all that happy to drink the water when it's in there. Plus they seem to get a bit of the runs when they do. Lex had the same problem. A month ago when he got neutered I have his teeth cleaned and now on his sunday spa day I force him to let me brush his teeth. I don't want to have him go under again for a cleaning.

Good luck. I know what you are talking about with that breath. Lulu is another story but I am starting to force her little butt as well to let me brush her. Cleanings are not cheap.

Yeah, I was worried that Tatum wouldn't want to drink her water with the vinegar in it but we haven't had any problems with it at all, thank goodness. And I really think I can tell a difference.
