Look what i did yesterday! 1 Attachment(s) i spent the whole day making layla treats! she has horrible skin problems and i think its due to the large amounts of crap that are in dog treats... so i made her some peanut butter treats that are wheat and corn free!! next up is salmon treats!!! and the best part is she LOVES them!!! |
What a good mommy you are.:) Nothing like homemade. I also was going to make treats. I bought the little dog bone cookie cutter, got some receipes and did nothing. You make me jealous. Carol & Buddy |
How sweet of you to spoil her with homeade treats! I'm glad she likes them! |
would you mind posting the recipe? i have nothing to do this weekend, so i might as well make my baby some treats! |
Me too:) Mine love the Yorkie Yummies, but variety is the spice of life:D I agree, there is WAY too much icky stuff in commercial treats. I pick stuff up, read the label, mutter and put it back on the shelf. PetSmart employees all probably think I'm insane. There's almost NO treats that I would feed my girls. I'd love that recipe, too, that's what I started out to say:laugh: |
here ya go! 1/4 c. honey 1 c. Crunchy peanut butter (all natural if you can) 2 c. chicken broth or water 1/3 peanut oil 1 c. rolled oats 1.c oat bran 304 c. oat flour oven- 350. in a large sauce pan combine, honey, peanut butter , chicken broth, and peanut oil stirring often until it simmers. remove from heat and stir in rolled oats and oat bran. let it cool. gradually blend in oat flour until you have a stiff dough. Transfer to the counter and shape the dough into a ball and roll to 1/4 inch thick. cut into pieces and put it on a ungreased backing sheet. bake for 30 min (i only had to do like 15 min per side) or until golden brown.. flip for another 30 min. and voila!! crunchy treats! |
304 cups of flour?!?! lol |
lol.. sorry about that 3-4 c. oat flour |
