What's a Bully Stick ?? 1 Attachment(s) Can anyone tell me what a bully stick is :confused: --- I keep seeing it on here as something our babies can chew on but I have never heard of them. My Vet just recommended enzadent -- its an oral care chew. Mattie loves them but 1/2 a stick doesn't last long. Plus it makes his #2 look alittle funny so I don't give it to him very often. These puppy teeth are torcher. Mattie's 11weeks. |
A bully stick is a chewy that comes from a bull's penis. :eek: Yucky, but true. Oh and most dogs love them.:shocked7q |
They aren't the healthiest chewy and most get diarreah from them. |

Bully Sticks Rock! I have seven yorkies ranging in size from 2.5 lbs. (14 week old pups) to a whopping 7 lb 3 year old female with the rest of the crew fitting between. All of my furbabies chew Bullies daily -- they are the best chewies I have ever offered to the kids. I purchase in bulk off ebay and they do NOT smell, are not greasy and DO NOT cause any stomach upset or diarreah. Mine LOVE their bully sticks. I think it's a bit gross, but who am I to judge? hehe MY Emma LOVES LOVES LOVES rawhide, but I stopped giving it to her because of the risks and these have seemed to take the place nicely!! |
I just bought some at Pet Smart. The girls seem to be ok with them, but they arn't thrilled. |
no rawhides for lexi,,, i just give her bully sticks, i get them in bulk at e-petsboutique.com...... 100% digestable. they do stink, but who cares |

No runny poo from the sticks here, when chynna was having problems with the poop soup we pulled all the sticks and everyone was Pissed! And it has NO effect what so ever! I would never get anything done without the all mighty stick! And I'll tell you, I almost went BROKE spending 3.99 a pop for Red Barn Bullys, and they would stink to high heaven and leave spots on my bed spread.. I had to find a better stick! So thats how I ended up with the Pixie Stick! no mess, no stink, no additives, no colors, its just pure free range, grass fed bull! I even sell them to my Dentist! lol |
Yep, Kathryn's right! I also bought some of her stix and Tink thinks she's in heaven. She chows down on those things like they were broiled steak. And there's no stink. I had gotten her one at Mounds and it stunk so bad I had to throw it out in the trash. No diarrhea or upset tummy here either. I vote for Bully sticks!! |
My 2 girls today have been going crazy over their bully sticks. Max tried to get some of it also. Can a 13week old have bully stick? |
Ok, how old does your puppy have to be to start eating them and do you have to worry about choking when it gets too small? Thanks:) |

I take them away when they are about 1" long. The puppies started chewing when they were getting their first baby teeth. Back then it was only an occasional chew for a few minutes, but now at 14 weeks, they can really do some MAJOR CHEWING. |
