"MLB" Limping: Please advise "My Little Buddy" Mason has a limp. I let him slip out of my hands from about 6" up and he landed awkwardly. He never yelped or cried and he is putting his weight on his leg so it can not be broken right? Should I wait this out or take him to the vet to get x-rays? Thank you for you advice... |
His leg could still have a fracture (crack) in the bone and he'd still be able to stand/walk on it, but it would hurt, hence the limp. You may want to have it x rayed. Hope he feels better soon..... |
Peanut did that once I wish they would be a lil more patient. Hope he is ok |
Ramsey did that yesterday. He jumped out of my Grandma's Flower bed (which is about 6 or 7 inches off the ground. She has bricks built up around it). He limped on it a little yesterday, but this morning he is walking on it fine. I called the vet and she told me that if he was not whinning and was putting his wieght on it he would be fine. But she did say that if he was limping today to bring him in. |
The same thing happened to Archie when he was playing with another dog. He was limping but didn't cry when I touched his leg. I took him to the vet, and she manipulated something (I think), and he took anti-inflammatories for a week. Now, we can't stop him... |
Little Miss a couple months ago was accidently pushed out of our bed in the middle of the night. She yelped and would put absolutely no weight on her leg. She was taken to the vet the next day and he said he thought her leg "was shocked" she didnt flinch with hip or leg manipulation, she wasnt even xrayed, he said give it two weeks................I thought he was a bit nuts...........but gradually she applied weight and was walking normally without the least of limping in a week. Guess he knew what he was talking about. I was sure it was broke. |
