OMG She Just Ate Raw Hamburger  Hubby just got home from the grocery store and the bags were on the floor as we put them away. I turned around and Kenzi had stuck her nose in a grocery bag and had eaten the corner of a package of raw hamburger. I quickly weighed the package to see how much in fact she had injested and it was just under an oz. Should I be concerned? |
She will be fine some people feed their dogs raw meat |
I personally wouldn't worry about it. I feed mine raw on occasion...just keep an eye on her...it may upset her tummy a little if she's not use to it. |
Thank you, thank you, thank you! To you both for answering so quickly. I just wasn't sure what to do. I feel much better. I love YT! |
It is no problem. She should be fine. I too, feed mine raw sometimes. Nancy |
Maybe Kenzi is trying to tell you something...like she's ready to try a raw food diet? ;) I just started the boyz on Nature's Variety and they absolutely love it...I just hope I don't find them outside rustling cattle now! |
She didn't eat enough to hurt her, but since she isn't used to raw, any little amount may make her poop a bit softer. |

Don't worry My dogs eat raw and love it....they have beautiful coats. It is said that a raw diet slows bone growth which allows for denser bones. |
I can tell you, with 4 years' RAW feeding experience, that Kenzi will be FINE :) She very well may be "trying to tell you" she prefers real food to kibble. Abbie eats RAW every day, with no ill effects. |
Thanks to all for the reassurance. Kenzi :aimeeyork has survived just fine. No ill effects. I was ready with a towel though. Didn't let her out of our sight all night. Didn't want to find a surprize on the floor! Looking back it was kinda funny seeing her tiny little body gobbling up that meat inside of the bag. I must say she did love it! She was licking her chops for quite awhile. This is one of the reaons I love YT. If you need advice, counsel, help or whatever, there is always someone there to help.:yorkietal |
