No pet insurance on our 4 legged friends. We have thought about it now and then but that's about it. |
I have the wellness care through Banfield (Petsmart). It's pretty good so far. Being that Ramsey is only 11weeks old (today!) the only thing it has helped with is his shots. If you have puppies it might be something you want to check into. |
Believe it or not my company does provide Pet Insurance. I have not had to file any claims or anything. Its not that expensive. I get reimbursed 90%. I really havent had to use it yet, so I cant say wheather its worth it or not :) Here's a short article wrritten in 2002 on money.com Thanks, Michael |

Happy Birthday Cosmo and Ramsey !!!! |
I have it. my.petinsurance.com It pays on wellness visits shots medicine. I mean there are some things it doesn't cover but I think it is worth 99.00 per year. Especially considering my first vet visit was 87.00. I will take anything that could come off of that. Go to the web site it has good info you can read up on and you can cancel at anytime. |

I just signed us up for insurance yesterday. Rory had a few trips to the vet recently, it turned out ok and it didn't matter the cost, but, I do have 3 other animals that I love dearly too and don't want to feel like I would have to compromise their care. My best friend said to me that getting the pet insurance was great because, now, none of them will get sick... Murphy's Law! A couple of years ago I lost my dear companion cat Joe and I know how much I it cost me to try to keep him going, so, hopefully with this insurance it will make those difficult decisions somewhat easier to make. We have insurance for Lucy, not sure how much it costs (Dad sorts that out) but it does save us money. Lucy's operation to remove her lump recently cost £200 and all we had to pay was £50. We paid the full amount then the insurance company gave us the money back. We use the LloydsTSB one which I guess you can only get in the UK (dont know if you have Lloyds the bank in the US) |
I have VPI pet insurance and yes, I've heard others bad stories about them but I have had nothing but excellent service. Simon and Hallie both have it, it's about $300/year for both and they cover all office visits, vaccinations, emergencies, anything the vet does! I was reimbursed almost all of SImon's surgery and it was over $1000. They have a website too! |
I have VPI also...just got it but I didn't know there were bad things about them...please elaborate because I don't have the vaccination coverage just major stuff in case there is a problem...about 30 a month |
