pulled muscle?? the other day when layla was running she caught her leg on a cord.. and since then has occasionally been limping..s he still runs like the wind.. and plays VERY hard.. but every once and a while will lift it up or favour it... do dogs get pulled muscles?? i dont' think it is serious because she will let me touch it all i want and move it to see if she wimpers.. .any thoughts??? i'm sure it is something little.. and i hate to go to the vet because i think he thinks i am there too much (we were there yesterday!)... anways.. thanks in advance |
Roxy is doing the same thing. She started a few days ago. She doesn't whimper and she still plays soccer and runs around fine. She eats and pottys fine. I do know going outside on the frozen ground bothers it. I am not sure what to do either. I hope it's nothing and Layla and Roxy both get over it on their own. BTW - if you mention "treat" she will pull her leg up and milk it for all its' worth. |
I'm sure this sounds like a cop-out, but if it continues I'd take him to the vet. Eddie came up limping a while back while playing with a neighbor pup. When the limp didn't go away the next day, I took him to the vet. The vet thanked me for bringing him in when it was aggravated so he had something to examine. Eddie's symptoms have since long gone away, but the vet believes he has a serious injury that will return. I've cut back on his exercise because of it. I don't mean to scare you, because your injury really does sound like maybe it's just a pull. Good luck |
Hi Roxy's mom... is his leg bad at night?? i find that layla is fine throughout the day... nothing unusual.. she runs funny but she has since day one.. then around bedtime when she is playing i kinda bothers her... i don't know... i feel so confused  i think i'll wait it out and see how she does and if need be bring her in... i feel so dumb tho because i feel like i am always at the vet for something.. before christmas we were there almost every week for a month for her anal glands.. i was there on thrusday about a patch of missing hair on her head... the lady who answers the phone kinda laughs when i say it is us.. i know she is not being mean.. but i still feel... arg.. anways.. i just hope it gets better... let me know how Roxy does. |
