I've never seen a dog who could resist my home made treats. They are always a BIG hit. Warning. Don't take these treats to a dog park or you will have all the dogs after you.:D 4 cups unbleached flour 4 cups whole wheat flour 1 package of fat free dry milk 1/2 cup vegetable oil 2 packages free range calf liver (cooked, cold and coarse ground) 4 eggs slightly beaten liver broth Cook the liver in enough water to cover till done. Place on a plate till cold or in ref. saving the broth. Then ground till it resembles coarse ground beef. Mix all ingredients together and pour liver broth a little at a time. Not too sticky or too dry. Like making bread. If you don't have enough liver broth then add some chicken broth. Roll out ofn floured surface to about 1/4 inch and cut in what ever shape you want. Place on ungreased cookie pan and bake in a 300 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cool on wire rack, place in zip-loc freezer bags and keep in freezer. They last months in the freezer and the dogs love the extra crunch when eaten straight out of the freezer. |
