Low Residue Feed I'd like some recommendations on a low residue feed for a 5 month old puppy. Right now we are using Nutro Natural Choice Lamb and Rice. His feeding schedule is almost exactly the same everyday, but his pottying is somewhat unpredictable and quite frequent 4-6 times per day. Not loose at all, very firm, but unpredictable. I thought perhaps a low residue feed or a different feed than we are currently using might reduce the frequency or at least produce more predictable results. I know of a yorkie that poops 2x per day on the exact schedule everyday. That would be great if we could achieve something like that. My main reason for this is that if I don't pick up his poop within a few minutes, he thinks it is fair game to play with/eat, ugh!!!! If his schedule was a bit more predictable, I could better eliminate this problem! Thanks a bunch, Julie and Tucker :aimeeyork |
Maybe low residue is not the correct term because when I google it, I mostly get returns for eukanuba or prescription formulas for sick dogs. I just want a food with excellent quality and not extra stuff/fillers that will make a lot of extra poop and help him to be "regular". Thanks, Julie |
Have you ever considered feeding your baby real food instead of garbage food? I'd pick up the poop each time to avoid this. http://www.homevet.com/petcare/foodbook.html http://www.prwatch.org/prwissues/1996Q1/madcow13.html http://home.att.net/~wdcusick/03.html |
your baby is still very young, but I notice that if you I did not feed my baby a lot of food, she can manage her potty time better. I switched from Innova to nutro and noticed that she poops more often. She hates Innova. After she finished this bag of nutro, probably I will try canadae. |
