Instead of Missing Link? I got an 8 oz bag for Pepper but it expired before I managed to use half of it (with daily feedinngs) and was looking for something else. I found this oil supplement aimed at improving skin and coat (relieves dryness and itching, promotes health coat and skin) by Vet's Choice. It has oils extracted from soy bean lecithin, wheat germ and fish. It also helps with overall metabolism. It doesn't expire, doesn't need to be refrigerated, good for puppies and pregnant females too..... Anyone has any experience with it? |
I have never heard of that oil but I am getting ready to try Grizzly Salmon Oil. |
If you want a really great recipe for Healthy Powder then make it from scratch from Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to |
don't know why that happen while I was typing..........but anyway the best book on the market is Dr. Pitcairn's complete guide to NATURAL HEALTH FOR DOGS & CATS. Here is the recipe. I've used it for years, and the only other thing I put in their food is cod liver oil. HEALTHY POWDER 2 cups nutritional or brewer's yeast 1 cup lecithin granules 1/4 cup kellp powder 4 tablespoons Groupo 1 bone meal powder 1,ooomilligrams vitamin C (ground) or 1/4 teaspoon sodium ascorbate (opotional) Mix all ingredients together in a 1-quart container and refrigerate. 1 to 2 teaspoons per day for cats or small dogs; 2 to 3 teaspoons per day for medium-size dogs; 1 to 2 tablespoons per day for large dogs. |
I know, that always happens with our Missing Link too - it always ends up expiring before we even get to use half the bag  What you found sounds alot like what I almost bought at Petsmart today - it was an oil supplement which also promised great results for the skin, and coat - only the brand was Veterinarian's Best. However...I put it back and just decided to stick with ordering the Grizzly Salmon Oil. I've been wanting to order it - and was going to last night but got side tracked - so I will order it online today. Hopefully we will have good results! ;) |
