Question Hi. I have a question about something that happened tonight with my little Sassy. I have only had her for one full day and night. Tonight while I was washing dishes, she came running to me making noises like she was hurt, but I could find nothing wrong and she was fine in a minute or less. She was like....crying. I picked her up and she continued for a few seconds and then stopped and all seemed to be fine. I looked around in the area she had been and discovered she had pooped on the floor in the dining room. Starting out firm and then going into a bit of what seems to be ....maybe...turning into a little bit of diarreah (sp?). She has been fine since the incident but it scared the heck out of me. She is back to her old self. I was wondering if maybe something scared her, but I can't for the life of me think of what it might have been.:idontknow Input? And thanks in advance. Sammi |

Re: Puppy stool ? How old is your wee baby? I have been told by some dog breeders ( not necessarily Yorkie) that when pups go to new homes there is a certain amount of stress thaat the wee ones go thru which can effect their bowels and eating habits. It is not uncommon to have loose stools appearantly and my vet and breeders have recommended, giving plain boiled rice 2/3 & 1/3 kibble or a mix of boiled chicken breast and rice for a few days until things settle down for the baby. I would suggest as a mom and nurse though to make sure your baby gets access to water at all times and free feed to make sure they are getting adequate nutrition. If your baby has many more diarreah stools in the next 2 days take him/her to the vet with a sample of the stool as well. This is just a suggestion from my dog owning experience. I hope your wee baby gets back on his feetpronto, oh yes was there any blood in the stool or fluid, is the baby constipated?? I hope some of the breeders on this site respond with their wealth of knowledge and please correct any of my suggestions if they are in error as I would not want to misguide. Cheers Suellen |

It looks as though she is fine. Sorry I forgot to say that she is a year old but I just got her day before yesterday and have the new mommie nervousness. She is an absolute delight. Her stools seem to be fine now and I am guessing something frightened her. I thought she was in pain and it scared me so. I haave an appointment wit the vet on Tuesday to check her out and make plans for getting her spayed. I'll be a nervous wreck through that as well, I imagine. I just son't want to let her out of my sight. She is very busy right now protecting her domain from those bad, bad lawncare guys that are in her yard. She is so funny. Thanks so much for your response. |

Congrats on your new baby!!! I agree that it's possibly just nervous tummy, even older dogs can go through that when experiencing a big change (I know mine do!) |

It could be nervousness from being in a new environment. Or she was so busy investigating her new surroundings and playing, she just couldn't make it to the door or place she was supposed to go and thought she would be in trouble? or was upset she went on the floor? Congratulations on your new baby! |

No, Bailey is spayed but I did buy another one. I am going to pick her up the weekend of Feb 9th. I have been trying to schedule my flight and my family in Oklahoma want to come with me. It is a bit complicated because only so many pets can fly in the cabin at the same time. So I am flying into OK City and we are driving into MO to pick her up. They are excited to see me & get to do this with me. They are too cute! I am so excited, I wanted to pick her up sooner but my schedule at work has been busy, then with the Holidays and I took my 16 year old daughter on a mother/daughter vacation that we had planned months ago. I'll post a picture of her soon, I already have dozens that the breeder has so thoughtfully sent me. |

I am excited for you. I have a wonderful idea... Get one extra and jet over to California and drop the extra one off to me. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D |

 HEHE....Where is Porterville? |
|
Porterville is central CA. Between Fresno and Bakersfield. We are an agricultural community in the Valley at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas. Factually, Credence Clearwater's first album (and put out as their first single record) in 1968 was named 'Porterville' for this town. It is unusually cold here right now. All the citrus growers are very worried. Good thing you aren't going on your trip until later. I don't think you would be able to make it right now and if you could you probably wouldn't want to. Brrrr. |

Now, Sammiz, you can always make that trip to Georgia! I have plenty of room :) Check little Sassy's bum -- she might have an "Alien" you know a cling-on from Planet Poopie. |

:sidesplt: That is too funny cause I just got done cleaning a cling-on from Brea! How dare they attach to my little baby! |

:bleh: Actually, I did check that. More than once....you see...my sweet little Sassy has gas. I was convinced she had more than that. BUT(T) she didn't. I would :love:love:love: to come to Georgia. I crave boiled peanuts, southern grown pecans and peaches. ;) ;) |
