HELP ! Someone asked me if my puppy was blind 1 Attachment(s) I have attached a photo taken yesterday of my 4 week old puppy Duke. I sent the photo to a friend and she asked if he was blind ! Why would she ask that? Do his eyes not look right? This is my first puppy. What should I look for? How would I tell? He is not home yet, but I will be going to visit him next weekend. Thank you in advance for your help !! |
Sorry I can't help you but wanted to say that he is adorable!!! |
yorkie pups eyes reflect blue until they get older then they will reflect copper or greenish hues. but if you see any cloudyness or marks on the eye itself take to your vet eyes aren't replaceable. good luck i'm sure your pup is ok though |
Do you have his mom and dad with you? His eyes do seem greyish but that could have been from the reflection of the light. Do his eyes look similar to his parents? |
She is probably asking because of the way his eyes look in the photo -- Yorkie pups usually reflect light with a blue cast. Nothing to worry about! That blue is expected! My little one looks the same if photographed head-on and the older of my two puppies already has the eerie green reflection. In person they will look nice and black. If they were clouded, I am sure the breeder would be aware. EDIT: Wow -- we all posted almost at the same time. :) |
Thank you Thank you, I feel better now. I posted some other photos on the MY Yorkie forum.... and thank you for the compliments on Duke, yes he is a doll !! Mary Lou:animal36 |
I dont anything about the eyes, but I just wanted to say that he is very cute! Congrats on the new furbaby! |
Puupy's eyes I think she may have been reacting to the bluish color of his eyes in the photo. I noticed that when I took photos of Archie when he was very young, his eyes seemed blue in the photos. Archie is most certainly not blind -- and I doubt that your pup is either! I remember a friend looking at one of the early photos and saying "My goodness, he's got blue eyes!" Certainly, though, have him checked out by a vet on his well puppy visit, if you remained concerned. |
