breeding I am new here and i'm not even sure i'm getting my messages out there. Bare with me :animal-sm . I bought a 4 lb male with a 6 lb female. She is in heat and he want even try. I had to take her to another male. Anyone know what could be wrong. He has everything and is only 2 years old. Help |
male How old was he when you got him? How long have you had him? Was he proven? Why did the breeder sell him? Give me more info... |
I just got him about a week ago along with the female. Neither of them had been bred before. He was on a wire cage and inside a closed building. when i first put him on the ground he was scared to death. Now he only wants me to hold him. He is so cute and loving, but i may never get to breed him. |
?'s Bless you for rescuing him from a wire cage. He may never be a stud..he doesn't sound well adjusted, but you can work on it. Once he learns to trust you he may breed fine...make sure he is healthy, keep his teeth cleaned. |
Poor lil' Guy I agree w/ YorkieRose. The poor little guy is probably just so happy to see the light of day much less a gal in heat. Don't give up on him just yet. He is still adjusting to having a real life now. See what happens next time, he might surprise you. Here's a thought- why don't you get with the person who studded the dog out to you and see if you might be able to bring your little guy around next time he/she is studding out to another female in heat, just to see how he reacts. I am not saying necessarily for him to actually breed- just to see if (with some time) he has more of a reaction. That way you won't have to wait until your female comes into heat again to know. |
male Thank you for your advice. He is in a loving home now and i will love him whatever. I have a female comming in heat again in july , He should be more adjusted by then and i'll let you all know what happens. |
