Hi my name is Morgan and i have an eating disorder am i the only one with a yorkie who is so unparticular about her food that she will eat anything given to her at any time of the day reguardless of if she's eatten a full meal already? Morgan wants to eat constantly. She's a little piggie. i'm eating soup right now and she's sitting in front of me staring. usually she doesn't make a peep when i'm eating, she only stares for a little while, but when any one else is eating she whines and dances around which usually causes people to give her food. she acts like she's never been fed. she's a tiny little thing, i really wonder where she puts all this food that she eats. luckily she has never seemed to have any digestive problems. I do know that she shouldn't have table food so don't jump all over me for her getting some. I'm a vet tech afterall. i just think its funny that this little girl eats and eats and eats and still stays skinny as a pole. lol |
Thank heavens, our Muffin isn't alone! Morgan can have a friend at the support group. I always think of her as having a broken gas gauge...she has no clue when her "tank" is full. I read about so many people here at Yorkie Talk that have difficulty getting their furbabies to eat & I feel guilty. Muffin will eat anything. We don't give her people food generally, but when I'm cooking she loves it when I dice her a few small bits of carrot & celery. I can barely get my husband to eat vegetables for goodness sake & Muffin shakes & dances like Emmitt Smith! If she didn't love to run around so much she'd never maintain her 6.5 pound weight consistantly. She'd be in dire need of a Richard Simmons intervention otherwise! :p C.J. |
There are people like this -- don't we envy them!!! Plus - growing pups often do eat more than adult (nongrowing) dogs. I will say that it must be nice not having a dog that is "picky." Carol Jean |
Peanut is the same way. He loves to eat and forget it if it drops on the floor. |
don't feed them people food it teaches them to begg (rude behaviour) and it's not very healthy for them. soem things are good for them like veggies cottage cheese n such but they shouldn't be fed when your eating |

i don't feed her while i'm eating. others in the house do and then when she's bouncing around them wanting more i tell them its because they've created a bad behavior. she doesn't do that for me, only them. especially my mom. morgan gets lots of people food. personally i think its good for them to get a variety of 'good for them' people food. it trains their stomachs to be able to handle different things so they won't have digestive problems. if they're only adapted to eating one kind of dog food then every time they sneak a little something different they get diarrhea. so i ask you which is worse? people food which does no harm or diarrhea and dehydration? dont think i'm some naive person either. I've worked with dogs for the past 11 years. I know them inside and out. every dog is different in what they can handle and what they can't. and everyone has different opinions. guys - i don't want this thread to turn into an "anti-people food' arguement so please curb all future negative remarks. this was just a fun post for all those of us who have garbage disposal yorkies :) |
LOL -- my two seem to always be ready to attack any spare morsels they can beg and always ready for a treat for doing their duty outside; but their kibble is another story. They swing by and eat a few here and there but I don't see them ever staying for a "meal." I think it is more reassuring when they are hearty eaters like your Morgan. |

My boy eats a lot too! He does have a little protruding belly but I still allow him to eat his kibble free. |
HAHAHAHA! My girls are the same way. They could eat all day long. It's like they never get full. They aren't even babies anymore. Granted still very young. They want everything and anything, LOL!! They crack me up  |

Hi, my Momiji is a little miss piggy as well. I figure she is a growing puppy so she wants to eat more!! I try not to over feed her and at this point I don't give people food except; peanut butter and cherrios. Sometime she finishes her food and stare at my face and bite her bowl!!! Such a drama queen!!! :D |
