Bitting back feet? is this normal? my new puppy seems to bite his back feet, mostly the right one all the time, we will be playing and then boom he is biting his feet and if I try to stop him he keeps doing it, should I ask the vet about this next week when I take him for his shots? |
What kind of food are you feeding him? If you are feeding him a food that has corn or wheat in it, he is probably allergic to one or both of those ingredients. If his food has corn or wheat in it, you should really consider switching foods. Any food off THIS LIST is an EXCELLENT food free of wheat and corn products. You cannot go wrong with any of these foods. |
Thanks so much, I will check his food when I get home and try to find one that doesn't contain those ingredients, if the one that I am using does have those. thanks!! |
also my guess... food allergy... also make sure you rise him really well when you bathe him... the feet tend to gather what comes off the body and shoudl be the last thing you rinse... if all those things don't work... check for fleas?? but if he is just new.. that shouldn't be the problem.. good luck! |
My dog did that all the time when he had fleas! I had just gotten him and thought if he had fleas I could see the fleas, but he would get them off by "biting" and then the bites are what itch. I started using Capstar and Frontline, treated the house... he's good now. He does clean his paws like a cat though. :) |
