can whiskers grow back? okay...i feel like i ask a million questions a day on this website!! and i always get good answers and return!! i love how you guys never get sick and tired of my questions and are always willing to give good advice..okayy well...the other day i was grooming my snickers..and i accidently cut off his whiskers..will it grow back?????!?! because he has whiskers on one side..and the other side is cut off... |
I'm pretty sure they grow back, I always trim Lillies when I groom her! Gotta love this site, it's the best! |
They'll grow back. Some people routinely cut them off while grooming, others feel like the dogs need them. With a breed like Poodles that you shave you have to cut them off and I don't think they are bothered by not having them. |
You said it- Yes, they do in fact grow back. I routinely shave my Akitas whiskers off and w/ the yorkies I part the hair and trim at the base of the whisker against the skin-being sure to not remove ANYTHING more than just the whisker. Pain staking, but w/ it! They can be so sharp and get so long that they'll actually come back at the dogs face. So I just remove them. |
lol.. I always wonder about the same thing too... gotta love this forum... You can find answers to almost everything. :D |
