Strange behaviour after grooming Bella was groomed for the first time yesterday. When I brought her home she was o.k. and pretty much slept. Later that night she was having accidents around the house, which is not typical of her and shaking her head a lot. This was her first groom, so I am thinking she is a little shakin? Could there be something wrong?? |
I would call the vet about the head shaking, I would also want to have her ears checked. I always want to be safe not sorry. I hope she did not fall or jump off the table. I would call the groomers and ask if anything happened by accident. Good Luck |
IMO its just nervousness . Sibelle was the same when she came back from the groomer , now she is fine . |
The first and second time my yorkie Lulu was groomed she had accidents around the house and it alarmed me because she almost never does. I decided I did not want the groomer to do her anal glands. She had never had a problem with them, and I decided that if she did I would have the vet take care of it. She has been groomed one time since then and I asked her to leave her anals alone and she had no problem. Now it is not an issue because I groom myself. The ear shaking may just be irritation from having her ear hair plucked. Just some thoughts, they may or may not be relevent to your case. |
Maybe they got water inside her ear? |

This is what I was going to say and also..maybe they pulled some hair from her ears? did you look inside her ears to see if they are red? I will always groom the girls myself..Sadie and Lillie are not show dogs and if they were I would learn how to groom the "right" way. I just get nervous leaving them anywhere...you never know how they are being treated.. |
How is Bella doing now? Is she better? |
Yorkie's first time grooming is a BIG step for them. It's a new place, new people, other dogs barking, and just a WHOLE experience. |
Hey all, Well Bella has seemed to bounce back. She stopped shaking her head, so I think you were right about the irritation. She is still having accidents. Not as frequent, but I also think this is an age thing. I had no idea about the anal gland thing!! I will ask them not to do that in the future. I have her limited to one room access under supervision at all times. Hopefully the potty training will work itself out. Thanks for the comments. |
