Cyst or Tumor? Last night I found a pea size lump under Bailey's chin. It doesn't seem to bother her as much as it bothers me... Last Thanksgiving Day I had found a large mass on her head; we were taking her in the next day to get spayed so the vet just removed it while doing the other procedures. It came back benign. I have an appt for her on Wednesday afternoon to get it checked out. I just called her breeder to see if her parents have had any problems and she said No, she said she had a couple of yorkies that have had clogged oil glands but they were older dogs. Bailey is only 18 mo old..... I am wondering if I should change her food? I currently have her on Royal Canin and she really likes it. She has a problem with too much protein and gets sick. Do you think that would make a difference? Thank you, Michele & Bailey:aimeeyork |
I dont know much about cysts but My dogs eat Royal Canin too and the protein is higher than alot of other foods. If Bailey is getting sick you might want too gradually change her over to another food. Best of luck to you I tried to change mine over because I didnt like it that it has corn in it and they wouldnt eat any other food so I went back to the Royal Canin |
[QUOTE=chachi]I dont know much about cysts but My dogs eat Royal Canin too and the protein is higher than alot of other foods. I had tried her on Nutro Max for puppies when I first got her ( her breeder had a list of foods she recommended) and she got sick on that. The Vet we take her to really likes Royal Canin brand foods. I fed her the puppy formula until she was a year old (per our vets recommendation) then switched her to the Yorkie Adult formula. Her coat is so soft, she looks really healthy. Just after reading some of the posts about food brands I am wondering...... The only thing both our vet and breeder said was not to give her wet dog food. They said it wasn't good for their teeth and they could fall out later in life....We had a pom before Bailey and the vet said the same thing about him. Michele & Bailey:aimeeyork |
Just yesterday I was rubbing under Cali's chin and felt a bump, I pushed aside the hair and it was a little bump with a whisker coming out of it. I think that's normal? |
My husband just got home and I made him look at her chin, he thinks it looks like the mass she had on her head last time........hopefully it is nothing. |

Ingrown hairs are normal on yorkies, the breeder and I were talking about that today. Your babies are beautiful!:) |
It's funny that you should mention a pea sized bump. I was playing with my pup a few days ago and found a large pea sized bump on her back. It doesn't bother her at all. It hasn't grown at all, so I am just going to ask the vet at our next visit. |

YAY!!! Good news!!!!   |
That's good! I hope it stays away. Maybe it was just like an ingrown hair, like we can get sometimes? Hugs to you both! |
