Pooh Eaters I want to thank the YTer who suggested putting Lawrys season salt on the dogfood, to stop the pooh eating. It has worked wonderfully. After spending money and being frustrated with other products, I tried this and I already had it in my cupboard. She doesn't eat it anymore, Thank you, thank you, thank you! |
Really? That works? I had never heard of it. I'll give it a try. Chachi doesn't eat his own but he eats Ollie's. How much do you put on it> Could I use it just on the canned, they get that twice a day. |
Yes, I just sprinkle a little and mix it in with the can and kibble that she gets two times a day. It's amazing. She just smells it and walks away. (the pooh that is). It doesn't seem to make a difference in the food taste. |
Lillie has just started doing this YUCK! Most of the time she will just throw it up in the air and play with it...sometimes she will eat it and I'm constantly taking it out of her mouth! She will me 5 months old Saturday....she has only just started doing this! WHY!!! what is wrong with this little poop eater!! Is Lawrys good for them though? it is very salty...I use it to cook with... |

I used the Lawry's and it seemed to work, but I also was concerned about the amount of salt. So I stopped and just waited to see if she had learned not to eat it, and of course, she is back at it again. So the salt is just a quick fix and not long lasting. The vet told me it was a learned habit, as a child biting their nails and needed to be discouraged. But to do it in such a manner as to not make them not want to go pooh. I even put tabasco on her pooh and she just licked it off. I don't know what to do. I just go out with her and stand with my poop shovel and wait till she's done and throw it away. But this last week, we went on vacation and my daughter watched my dogs. My mom was there and she saw her poop and eat it and about got sick. So I know we can't be there every time? I am willing to hear any other tricks anyone may have. Karma is only 5 months, so maybe she will outgrow it? |
I hope they grow out of it. Venus stopped for a short time, after I started putting stuff in her food. Next thing I know, she's back at it again! I've tried 2 things so far, Lawrys's and some meat tenderizer. I'm not sure she's eating it, but she sure "scatters" it around! OMG, what a mess too, ewww. I just try to make sure I take her out, every hour on the hour, when she's eating. I take her food away at 7pm too. When I see her eating, as soon as she stops, I take her immediately outside. All this is "helping" but hasn't stopped it. |
