Excessive licking?
 
These past few days Jaden has been licking a lot! He likes me whenever I hold him and licks himself all the time. I can't figure it out as he would lick before just not all the time. He's also been yawning a ton these past few days, does this mean anything? I was trying to figure out if this was normal or if I should be worried? I didn't know if anyone else yorkie got like this?

Jewels licks alot and nothing has been found to be wrong with her. Some dogs just like to lick

Thanks! I know I probably sound like a paranoid maniac but he wasn't doingit before and just started it all the sudden so I was wondering if it meant he needed something or was an allergy reaction or something like that...

My dog licked his nose for what seemed like hours after be bumped it. He is used to jumping up on the spare bed from a little stool and we had company over and they moved it... well, he still tried to jump and ran his little nose right into the side of the bed! He yelped a little, but seemed just fine behavior wise besides the licking. I figure he was doing it because his nose was a little sore. So, maybe if he is being specific with his licking, it is something like that.

my howie has a thing for licking my boyfriend, his arms, legs, face .. everything! but he doesn't lick me .. lol

Where is he licking? Is he scratching too? If he's licking his paws, he could have yeast infection. Look at the base of his nails. If there is some tar like goop at the base it's yeast infection. You might need to use your nail to scrape it to see if it's goopy.

If not... he just likes to lick or could be bored.

He mainly licks me when I'm holding him, he licks my arm or my hand. When he licks himself it seems like he's cleaning himself kind of reminds me of a cat. I checked his nails and they appear to be all right, so I guess he just likes to lick me. Its strange as he won't lick anyone else that lives with me...he seems to have gotten a little better at it now and if I put my arm under a blanket he'll just lay down and quite his licking.

I have no advice, but I do know all my Zoey does is lick, lick and lick some more. We always say we think there is a motor in her tongue!

My Scrappy is such a licker. He wants to jump up and constantly lick you in the face and on the ears. Then if you're not with him, he's laying on the couch and licking the cushions! What's that all about, who knows.

Charlie is a crazy licker. I saw a doormat once that said, "Beware, dog cannot hold its licker." I wish I'd bought it!

Evidently I'm better at finding doormats than adding pictures to my profile. I have a really cute one that I can't seem to go where I want it...unless is works this time. Just testing...
