Not eating I know I've been here almost a year, but I've searched and searched to find the answer to my questions before posting.... Izzie was spayed yesterday (Wednesday) and has come through beautifully. She hasn't ate since Tuesday evening...they didn't want her having food. They didn't feed her last night of course and they didn't feed her anything this morning before I picked her up at 8:30 AM. When I got her home, she drank a little too much water too fast and threw it up. So I just give her a little by eye dropper. What can I feed her to keep her strength up. The Vet Tech said just let her eat her regular food, but a little bit at a time. She doesn't seem interested in it right now. Can I give her an egg? Do I mix it with anything? How about a little Karo in the egg? Advice is really appreciated.. |
AWWWWWWWWW Poor baby girl! I would try giving her canned food. Maybe some rice mixed with cottage cheese or some boiled chicken and plain yogurt. Then start mixing whatever she is eating (whether it is the human food or the canned food or BOTH) with her kibble. Anything to entice her to eat. I dunno about the egg. Some people say it is good for them and other don't. So, I dunno about that one. Hope Izzie gets well soon!!!!! :getwellso :getwellso :getwellso |

How about boiled chicken and rice with a little chicken boullion broth, that allways helps settle their tummi. Rosi&Poli sends kisses for the poor girl ! |
don't forget the Nutrical!!! |
I would do the chicken and rice and Nutrical every now and then. She won't be able to resist the chicken. If she isn't used to canned food, she could end up with the runs, therefore putting strain on her abdomen. Hope she is feeling better soon. |
