Our Kids Need to Get Along! Hi Everyone! Can anyone share some suggestions on how to get my dog to get along with my boyfriends German Shepard? We recently moved in together and are having some what of an issue with the dogs. My boyfriend thinks I'm too over protective of her, but I can't help it! that's my baby! :) Okay... Problem... Rusty (German Shepard) is a pup who thinks he is much smaller than he really is. And all he wants to do is play. Mishka (yorkie) is very mellow and growls at him when ever he comes anywhere near her. :( we keep the pups seperated... but I would really like to see them get along. WE ARE A FAMILY NOW!!! |
Personally I wouldn't leave the 2 puppies alone together. Even though the Shepard is a pup he is big and could hurt your yorkie. I get nervous when my Daughters Goldens are around and they don't bother with my girls but, it's just the fact that they are so much bigger than mine. I would just gradually let them play and tell the shepard easy if he starts to get rough. The breeder I bought both of my yorkies from breeds Rotties as well. One of the Rotties is and indoor dog and thinks she is a yorkie as well...The pups crawl all over her and she lets them. I think eventually they will be fine together. |
THank you for your reply. I guess you are right with time they should become more familiar with each other. I hope! :) |
