Soft canned dog food Juliet's poop is REALLY soft, almost runny-like. Sometimes it is more solid than others. I am wondering if I should just totally wean her off the soft food and just give her the hard. She has no problems chewing it or anything. She is 11 wks old. I have been mixing hard and soft since I brought her home. |
If you can get her to eat the hard only it is better for their teeth. My two just nibble on the hard so i give them a little bit of moist in the morning |

no mine arent but they are 18 and 19 months. yours is a young puppy and when mine were younger their poop was softer |
Puppies definately have sensitive stomachs. It's best to stick to dry kibble and *tiny* dry treats. One bite of a new treat used to throw Loki's system off. I switched him to Canidae, which has probiotics in it, and he improved. There are a lot of premium foods out there - I just found Canidae worked and is cheaper than Innova, Chicken Soup, etc and is very similar. What brands are you looking at trying? |
Well, the breeder gave me a bag of Iams puppy and she won't touch it. She seems to really like Puppy Chow. I would like to try the Ultra Max puppy, Romeo (our Yorkie that died) LOVED it. The pieces are small and have a hole in the middle like Cheerios. |
I would definately put her on a better food. There's a lot of corn in Puppy Chow and cy products. The corn can cause diarrhea and that's not going to help with potty training! What stores do you have near you? Or are you willing to order online? (You can get samples too!) |

I know the Puppy Chow isn't the best food, but until I get the other, that's all she will eat. She won't go near the Iams. |
I don't know why I've been saying Ultra Max. It's Nutra Max. |

If you can wean her off the wet food, it is best for her teeth. But many people here have a hard time getting their yorkies to eat just hard food, so many people mix hard and soft food once or twice a day. If you do contine to mix the hard and soft together, you should still leave out the hard food all day for her to nibble on. |
She is now eating all hard food and she has absolutely no problems doing so. She eats like a champ! |
That's great! |
