Tears Rocky always has tears and eyeboogers in his eyes. Does anyone know anything that gets rid of this problem and works really well? |
ohhh ohhh me too! I have the same problem!!!! If anyone out there knows any ways to fix this problem pleaseeeeeeeeee help!! :D |
For tear stains www.imapreciouspup.com has this stuff called eye envy. For the eye boogars you just have to use a warm clothe with water |
all yorkies have this problem, some may not have it as bad. I know my Kloey had aweful bad tears and eye buggies, but Lillie does not have it very bad. You can get some eye wipes at the pet store. |
Thanks for the advice guys! I'm looking for something though that will prevent this from happening, does anyone know of anything? |
The only thing i have heard of preventing tearing is to give them distilled water rather than tap. I dont know how true that is though. i dont have a tearing problem with mine |
I learned that often the tear ducts are clogged and that's why the tearing occurs. Your vet can open up those tear ducts but it is a surgical procedure so your dog would need to be put under anesthesia. When I approached my vet she put some kind of yellow fluid into Simba's eyes (it obviously didn't hurt) and she said if we can see it coming out of the nose it means that they tear ducts aren't clogged. It didn't but when she performed the neuter it turned out that his tear ducts were so small (he was six month old) that she didn't attempt to unclog them. I may have it done when he has his teeth cleaned. Quote:

I asked the vet the same thing about the eye boggers. She said to train the hair away from the eyes. It is the hair tickling the eyes that cause the boggers. Peanut hates to have his eyes clean. I use a warm baby wash cloth. |
Piccolo had this problem and I started to boil the water. It really helped a lot. |
My baby girl seems to have this problem too. I give her bottle water....so boiling water doesn't seem to help the situation  I asked my vet, but they never gave me any eyedrops or mentioned the surgery. Is that a major surgery? Is it worth it to have my baby go under it? Anywayz....Thanks for the information. :) |
Same here and i give my babies bottled water as we are on a well and has alot of minerals in it. I also wash their faces with warm washcloth ! |
I use pet eye wipes then comb out the boogies with a fine-toothed flea comb (very carefully!!!!). |
