Tonsillitis HIya. Has anyone ever experienced tonsillitis in their yorkies at all? I took Max in to the vet because he was coughing a lot (he sometimes does it after drinking water anyway), and she did a checkup. Turns out she saw that one tonsil was bigger than the other, and she thought it was tonsilitis. He was put onto antibiotics for one week, and, he's better now. He was coughing a lot.. and one of the symptoms is shaking of the head which he was doing, and he was a little more sleepy than normal. What to Watch For: - Retching - Coughing - Lethargy - Anorexia - Fever - Headshaking - Frequent attempts to swallow or difficulty swallowing Here is a good link for more info: http://www.petplace.com/dogs/tonsillitis/page1.aspx |
Thanks for the info. Glad Max is better. Cali was in last week for a runny and stufy nose now when she swallows it sound funny I will watch her. The vet didn;t want to put her on antibiotics but I wish she had. |
