Any advice on dry coats? Our yorkies have been scratching all summer it seems. We get them groomed...they scratch. We treat them for fleas...they scratch. We did an oatmeat bath....they scratched. I changed their food to a better one that is they say will help, but how long should it take. I don't know who is being driven more crazy by it...me or them. Any suggestions would be so appreciated. |
I use missing link and love it!!! Timmy had a very dry coat and after 4 days of using this stuff I started to notice a change. What food are you giving them now? |
I just changed them to Nutru Natural Choice. I'm hoping that someone also makes a skin conditioner I can use on them to give their coat moisture. |
Oh okay...I feed mine Nutro Ultra Puppy. Give it another week or so and see how they do. If not, you can always try to sprinkle missing link on their food. Thats what I do with mine and I love it. I got the shine back into Timmys coat. I also use Petsilk serum and a little bit of cowboy magic and boy do they shine. I've heard Seabreeze oil is pretty good too. |
I also use Missing Link! Not only do I love the results, but my 2 picky eaters LOVE how it tastes!!!!!!!!!!! I have recently started putting a little vegetable oil or olive oil on their food in the mornings in addition to the Missing Link. Their dry skin is completely cleared up!   |

Isn't it great!!!! I seen results after like 3 days...of course now the dry coat and skin is clear but I still give it to them. Mine love it too!!! |
What is missing link? Is it a suppliment? |
I give Bentley flax seed instead of missing link, it is way cheaper and his hair and skin now look way better....:aimeeyork |
Thanks for the help. I'll check out this one too. My Me-Me's skin is just too dry. |
I'm starting to read about the Benefits of Emu Oil - I really like what I'm reading about it - it's something to try that isn't expensive and who knows - it just may work. It states it stops itching http://www.gentleridge.com/animalsemuoil.html I copied this review from the site : Quote:

There are different grades so you want to buy TOP Grade Oil and yes - it's topical from what I read. The bottle I bought is very small - but you dilute it so I just added water and put it in a spray bottle. there's lots of info on the net for it's many uses. |
I must try this emu oil. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the adivce. |
