Weight Sean eats only his food and some treats during the day. He eats no people food but has gained too much weight. I've left dry food out for him to eat as he is hungry but realize he may be eating too much so I'm going to cut back on the amount. I realize that he probably should get some more physical activity so we're going to take daily walks. Will be good for him and me, too. Any suggestions about what else I can do so he will lose some of the excess weight? |
Just a question....why is he getting treats? These can really add calories, and is not something they need at all. I give cheerios when training and occasionally a teeny bit of cheese..just a taste really, when she has done something really awesome. Also, some foods cause weight gain. My first yorkie was on Eukanuba years ago (when that was considered the best available!) and she gained weight, but didn't get really fat or anything, just weighed more than she should have. Walking should be a good thing, too. Good luck to you. It is really great that you are keeping track of his weight and are doing something now. Yu are a good mommy. ellie |

Since it's been so hot and humid this summer, I haven't been able to take him for very long walks. As the weather cools off, we will walk much more. We can both use it! |
