Hiccups Howie has been having these little fits of what seem like hiccups lately. Is it possible for yorkies to get hiccups? Do you think it's problematic? Or could it be something else?? |
Can you describe what it sounds like? Last night, Gracie was up a couple of times. She sounded like she was belching or was trying to throw up, but did not. I did not consider hiccups! |
It's not so much a sound even.. I can feel his itty bitty rib cage sharply moving up and down and it'll go on for a minute or two. If anything, it sounds like an actual human hiccup. You know, that sucking in air sound or that kind of throaty swallow. I don't know how to help him when it happens so I just rub his tummy.. |
Lillie will be 9 wks old tomorrow...she has had the hiccups 3 times since I got her...Once at the vets..they told me stress can bring them on..she doesn't make noise though...Sadie, my 2 1/2 yr old has gotten them before too. |
It could be hiccups, Cali had them a couple times. Also reverse sneeze is a possibility. It's like they are taking in air but not breathing out. I try and hold Cali's mouth shut and it forces her to breathe out again. |
I didn't know dogs could hiccup. :p |
Oh both of mine have gotten hiccups before! I think it's so cute! :p |
Phew.. So no worries then? |
I had a dachound when I was young that got them all the time. I would rub his tummy and they would go away. Hiccups, just like people get, just no sound, at least not a loud sound. |
Lexie has had them before, its like you can see she has them but you don't hear them...Some one said that they are growing when they get them, & another said they had worms, but I don't think either one is true....:) |
