what's a good feeding schedule?
 
Just wondering what is a good feeding schedule for a three month old Yorkie? I understand he must be feed three times a day until he's around 6 months old or so. The problem is that I am trying to make potty time a little more regular if you catch my thrift.

I usually wake up around 5 a.m. in the morning and am off around 6 a.m. I come back btw 4-5 p.m. My sister on the other hand wakes up btw 6-7 and is out at 8 a.m. back anywhere from 2 p.m. - 7:30.

What's a good time to feed him?

Also been noticing that he seems extra hungry most of the time. We feed him 1/3 cup three times a day of Merricks dry puppy and sometimes he keeps pawing on the plate for more food. Is it o.k?

Oh Goodness, i wish I could help you. Mine are both adults and eat twice a day (breakfast and dinner). I'm sure some other experienced members here will be able to help you :)

When the boys were younger I fed them about a tablespoon of soft food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I kept a bowl of fresh water and a bowl of hard food down for them all day...at night I put a small handfull of dry food in their crate just in case they needed it. Now that they're older they get soft food at breakfast and dinner but their hard food is down all day.

I think I only fed zoe 3 times a day for the first month I had him. So I put him in a twice a day schedule at 4 months old. I am now fostering a 3-4 month old pup and I only feed twice a day but add more food than zoe.

I do this because I work and thats my schedule. I also free feed zoe so he has a limited amount of food all day. I have him pee pad trained so I think its easier that I don't have to take them out on a schdule.

Abbey is 4 months old. I feed her about 1/8 cup Innova Puppy with 1/2 teaspoonful of Merrick soft twice a day. In addition I leave approx 1/8 cup dry Innova in her bowl during the day. She almost always has part of her dry food left in her bowl in the evening. But, that is ok. She currently weighs 2 lbs 4 oz. She is doing fine on this schedule. She is gaining weight appropriately. The only treats are Cheerios when we are training. She also gets a small dab of Nutri Cal at night.

Mine free feed. Sorry can't help. but I guess if I were to feed them three times a day, I would feed them when I eat.

Is it o.k that I feed mine 1/3 cup three times a day? Just wondering consideirng my pooch is 3 months and weighs a wooping 5 1/2 lbs.
