Dingleberries!! Hi everyone. I was wondering if this happens only to my lola. She likes to eat my hair from off the floor! I have long (elbow length) hair and Lola always winds up eating the hair that falls to the floor. This results in "passing" of the strand of hair through her system, and sometimes in the morning after she's gone doo-doo on her pee pee pad, she'll walk around with a funny constipated look on her face and walk around with her booty in a funny position, and I check her bum, and realize there is still a poop hanging on by a hair!!! I have started calling them "dingleberries" Yikes! I try to swiffer about twice a week but she still winds up eating my hair. :( I dunno if anyone has any advice, but it's pretty funny, right? I think that's the main reason she doesn't get all the poop on the pad when she DOES go. The majority lands on the pad, but sometimes I find a berry or two elsewhere. ;) what a wonderful present for mommy! I guess I can't really blame her, it lands where it lands when the hair decides to give... :( anyone else know what I'm talking about?? |
OMG, my Napoleon does the same exact thing!.. I was once sitting at the computer and he went to poop in the other room on his pad (this was before he was pottytrained) and he came back and was basically shuffling his little butt along and crying. I put him on the bed to see what was wrong cuz i thought he hurt himself but then I saw a brown stain on my bedspread and sure enough he had a piece of poop hangining from his booty by a long strand of hair that he had eaten. I felt so bad for the little guy! |
YUCK! That's gross! I got a good visual of that...BLAH! :D |
Here's a story for ya: Last winter this happened to Hallie so bad I had to take her to the vet and he gave her an enema. You should have seen the amount of my hair that came out of her (for 3 days). I was so embarrassed/disgusted with myself/and felt so bad for poor Hallie. I had really long hair and I shed really bad so I started vacuuming every day after work. She will still occasionally get some hair stuck but my vet told me never to pull it, take some small scissors and cut it off. So yes, I feel your pain! |
yuck!! |
Jazzie does that from time to time too... I think she gets my hair on her toys. Then when she poops, she turns into a pull toy! I laugh now but I feel so bad when that happens! |

I'm fortunate that Jaxon doesn't eat the hair off the floor - thank goodness since I seem to always lose so much. It's probably the ONLY thing he doesn't eat off the floor. |
lexi used to eat my hair and the same thing used to happen,,, sometimes the hair gets wrapped around their toys and they eat in.. as they get older, it will stop... just make sure their butt area is clean and shaved |
That happened to Louie one time. I took him out one morning and right after he pooped he started running around the yard, dragging his butt, and crying. He went past me and I saw what was going on, but he got it off himself before I could get him. I felt bad for him, I think it scared him more than anything though. I told him that from now on if he eats hair his poop will chase him.:p |
EEEeewww.......:tongue4: But funny! :D |
This is hilarious. My sister's yorkie, Sophie, always has this happen to her! :confuse2: How embarrasing for the little ones! :o |
Well here's one for you! Bentley gets them every now and then because the little weinee likes to back his bum up against a tree and stand on his two front paws when he goes poo. And I can always tell if he's had a problem because he runs in the house acting all weird and then starts doing the "puppy shuffle". Why he insists on trying to defy gravity when he has to take a poop is beyond me. But yeah, keeping his bum shaven close will help a lot. I learned that one the hard way :tongue019 |

That sounds HILARIOUS! Like he's doing a handstand to poop--does he rub his butt on the tree trunk on his way back down to standing on all fours? Maybe he's wiping! LOL |

I must be very lucky because I have hair that's just below my shoulder, my youngest daughter has hair a little longer than that and my 23 year old has hair almost to her waist, yet Google hasn't had anything hanging out of his but yet. The only cling-ons we get, we get when his bum hair needs trimming--it it's not really short, he gets hair stuck on it at least twice a week. My daughters have left their hairbrushes where Google can find them and he does find them--when the girls go looking for their brushes because they're "lost" they almost alway wind up getting found in Google's crate--yet he doesn't play with the end you use to brush hair, he chews the handle. |
